Addictions If You Are Struggling. Let Jesus Christ Help You

Addictions

The main root of addictions would be a trauma of some type, usually some type of abuse, rejection, abandonment which caused the heart to be broken at its core. Then follows the need to fill that pain with some type of negative, self-destructive behaviour and or substances which temporarily help those escape, cope with, and dull the pain.

However, this does not solve the issue but masks it.

These types of people need to be reconciled back to God who heals the broken heart and the pain. He would restore them through a process of reconciliation, closing any doors, through repentance, forgiving those that caused the trauma, releasing them, followed by forgiving themselves. Most find this difficult because of self-blame and self condemnation.

Destructive cycles and negative coping mechanism that have been in place for a long time need to be torn down, uprooted and replaced with a new coping mindset. This is a process and not always a one-off prayer and is best ministered through a hands-on discipleship programme – the turning of victims into conquerors. Which requires patience and a long-term commitment, as these behaviors come off in layers and some layers run deep.

The end game is for that person to make a permanent separation from the old man/ women, working through all the trauma, cutting off all roots from inside a person's soul, resulting from a permanent separation from the effects of the past. This is all done through the word of God and the working of the Holy Spirit. Its totally a divine process.

Christ can heal the broken hearts, restore the person and bring them back from the dead life. Jesus Christ came to set the captives free and give a new start in life to follow Him. This is the Good news of the Gospel. Repent and Be Baptised.

Jesus Christ Came To Heal The Brokenhearted

[He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4.16]

Jesus Christ Came To Give New Start

[2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.]
